How does divorce affect my pension?

Pension pots are probably the second largest accumulation of wealth outside of your property. Pensions are counted as an asset when going through a divorce. Pensions can vary in how they are seen in a divorce either being something earmarked for an ex spouse upon the time draw from it, or an asset in which one side buys out the other. It depends on the pot, type of pension and the amount involved.
