My pension is not enough, what can I do?

If you’re at the age where you’re retiring and your pension isn’t enough then you can look at other assets that you’ve got. It could be an inheritance, it could be from savings that you’ve got, maybe you have to defer and do some part time work. It’s important to plan early for that retirement pot.

If you’re still working and have a regular income you can top up your pension. It’s not too late if you are still earning money to fund a pension. Seek advice as a financial adviser can help advise you on how much you can top up your pension. With the tax relief associated with investing in your pension you can see some real growth and it is never too late to invest in your pension. If you’ve retired seek advice as there could be more efficient ways to be accessing that pot or using in a higher growth manner. With regards the state pension you can plan that in and see when you are eligible for that too.
