On Saturday 29th October, IEP Financial held a charity fundraising ball for over 350 guests at Brighton’s prestigious The Grand Hotel in aid of our 2016 company charity, Martlets hospice.
We have long been committed to supporting local causes across Brighton and Hove. Martlets offers an invaluable service to the community, providing essential care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones. With just 25% of its income being from statutory sources, Martlets relies its own trading, private donations and fundraising to continue providing care across Brighton & Hove.
The evening was an enormous success, raising a grand total of £30,000 and we are certain it has also injected a good deal of awareness about Martlets into the Brighton and Hove business community. Huge thanks to Rob Starr for his personal account of his experience with Martlets and special thanks to all the local businesses who donated. These include Richard Ball (Floral Image), Richard Beeforth (Sussex Print Management), Zoe Kiss-Chinman (Just Occasionally), Emma Joanne (Shotgun Photobooths), Ed Giddins (Full Event Management), Matt Warren (Travel Places) Asda Hollingbury for all the pumpkins and finally the volunteers from Martlets who helped with all the decorating. There were many other businesses and friends of IEP Financial involved and we extend our thanks to everyone.
IEP Financial’s Managing Director Ian Poysden said “Once again the night surpassed all of our expectations and what a fantastic evening was had by everyone! Everyone threw themselves into the fundraising and then continued with the party long into the night. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who was involved.”
Emma Knight, Martlets Head of Corporate and Major Donor Giving, said “The Martlets Halloween Ball 2016 was one of the most well-organised, well-attended Charity events I’ve been involved with. It was really heart-warming to see such support of Martlets in one room. I was moved to tears by Rob Starr’s very personal account of how Martlets took care of his Father, and his family. It’s clear that the people of Brighton & Hove and its surrounds are passionately committed to supporting their Hospice, and I genuinely hope they will continue to do so with the kind of gusto displayed on Saturday night – not to mention the fun they had while doing so!
Thank you to Ian, Karin, Chloe and everyone at IEP Financial for creating such a fantastic event for Martlets once again. Big thanks too to everyone who donated, participated, performed and bid! Truly outstanding and I hope we can do it all again next year!”
